It was only a matter of time before James Cameron went back to the water. Actress Michelle Rodriguez says Avatar 2 will take viewers beneath the waves, and it will be "extraordinarily beautiful."
Rodriguez, who played combat pilot Trudy Chacon in the first film, says in an interview with the Associated Press that director James Cameron's sequel will take place underwater.
Even though she broke these exciting details, Rodriguez says she has no idea if Cameron will have a role for her in the upcoming film.
Cameron, who is behind Steven Spielberg as the second-highest grossing director of all time, has had a career-long love affair with filming on or under water. His work in the 1989 film The Abyss and the Titanic documentary Ghosts of the Abyss revolutionized underwater filming.
He even spent his 56th birthday last year underwater!
As for Rodriguez, you can see her later this month in a very familiar role -- she plays an Air Force sergeant fighting aliens in Battle: Los Angeles.
